I am participating in another auction for Metalsmiths for Change this weekend, benefitting the Center for African American Health. I have made a brooch to honor the life of a remarkable woman, Dr. Patricia E. Bath. Her work centered on ophthalmology, a discipline I think about every day, as the health of my eyes is crucial to my ability to create micro-mosaics. Her dedication to equality in health care led to her innovations for cataract surgery, as well as community care systems which are still in use today. Starting this Saturday, a new group of auctions for Metalsmiths for Change will be going up on Instagram. You can preview the auctions at the website but the auctions will be held on Instagram so you'll need an Instagram account to participate. I love IG and hope you'll join me over there. I often post works in progress, along with garden and pet, husband and travel (when we get to travel again) :)
