Ocular Ring: Eye on U
Blue-Eyed micro-mosaic amulet.
Perhaps a secret message to a lover, as in keepsakes that kept the lover's identity secret from inquisitive eyes by means of a portrait of a single eye. Wearing a Lover’s Eye was a fad between 1790 and 1820, and was later given new meaning when Queen Victoria (1819-1901) commissioned eye miniatures of her children, friends, and relatives’ eyes, as objects of affection.
Or perhaps an amulet to protect the wearer against the Evil Eye...
Ring is a size 8. 1" tall, overall, and Eye measures 1 1/2" across x 7/8" high
